Sign Language Lets Me Communicate With My Son.. (Apraxia of Speech)

by Andrea
(Crystal Lake, IL)

My son is 2 1/2 and has been diagnosed with childhood apraxia of speech. He only has about 10 words and we have had to start with basic letter sounds to try to get him to build up to being able to speak.

At 2 1/2 it is totally frustrating that he can't tell me what he needs, but sign language has helped up get past some of these barriers. I am so thankful that it is around to help us.
